The intake manifold routes the fuel/air mixture to the cylinders or just the air on a modern fuel injected engine. The exhaust manifold routes the burnt fuel gases out of the engine into the exhaust system.
On intake manifold or engine block.
A bad intake manifold or manifold gasket can cause water to leak into the oil. Some newer cars have plastic manifolds and they will crack from age.
NOPE, THEY BOLT ON DIFFERENT AND THEY ARE BOTH TOTALLY DIFFERENT.
It will usually say the piston number on the intake manifold on most cars.
It was usually bolted to the intake manifold in those cars.
if taken care of 250-300k, fix the manifold intake. good cars
i found the drain plug on my 2.4L under the exhaust manifold. These cars are ridiculous to work on :(
The manifold needs to be the correct one for the engine. Either the manufacturers part or an aftermarket part. Manifolds for automatic transmissioned cars normally have an extra drilling in them for vacuum lines
Hey Mario==It will be close to the exhaust flange and on some cars it is in the exhaust manifold. GoodluckJoe
It's in the exhaust line. After the exhaust manifold and before the muffler. In fact, it looks like a muffler on some cars.
The reason a Lincoln Town Car might not start after the intake manifold was replaced could be that the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor was not installed properly after the manifold was replaced. The computer might also need to be reset.
The intake plenum on most cars is bolted directly atop the intake manifold. This is where the air goes after passing through the throttle body.
