Depends. It can mean lots of different things. If the chirping is loud and high-pitched, it's most often pain, anger or when the pig is trying to tell you something like go away or leave me alone. If it's repetitive and faint it's probably contentment, or guinea pig talk, because pigs like to chatter.

∙ 10y agoMine would do that when they were hungry or trying to get my attention. They quickly associated the sound of plastic bags ruffling with me bringing them cabbage and so they would chirp in unisson.
