A cyst is simply a fluid-filled ball, sac or space within the body; it is often lined with epithelial cells that generate the fluid and is not cancerous or malignant. In the dog's skin, a cyst will often look like a non-pigmented mole - firm, discrete, raised, possibly with no hair over it.
