Cysts should be evaluated by a vet. What you might consider to be a cyst may, in fact, be a malignancy or even a parasite. If it is a cyst, the vet can drain it and pack the wound and relieve you and the dog of a lot of pain and worry.

This will depend upon where the cyst is. A cyst is simply a fluid-filled ball, sac or space within the body; it is often lined with epithelial cells that generate the fluid and is not cancerous or malignant. In the dog's skin, a cyst will often look like a non-pigmented mole - firm, discrete, raised, possibly with no hair over it.
