The horn is small spiral metal box ending at the outside in a rectangular sound opening. In Taurus and Sable they are mounted on the front end of the chassis frame.
On a 2001 Ford Taurus : ( No ) it doesn't have FAIL - SAFE COOLING like some of the newer Ford vehicles may have

You can buy a manual repair at any automotive parts store like auto zone ,pepboys, orelley.Ask for a repair manual for Ford Taurus from 1992 to 1995.
These are easy. They should be located in the front engine compartment by the radiator or by the wheel wells. They are black and look like a horn and usually have one or two bolts attaching it. There is a wire you have to unplug from the horn. This is a hot wire so protect it from touching the metal surfaces of the car or grounding the connector. Most cars have one or two. But they are generally somewhere in the front of the engine compartment.
Yes, but like any car you have to take care of maintenance.
yes you can..... they look like rubber bands but you can
Solved my own question... I found the owner's manual online and apparently on a 2001 Ford Taurus SES that light is (it's NOT the brake light, by the way): Check Transaxle Momentarily illuminates when the ignition is turned to the ON position. Illumination of this light indicates that a problem has been detected and shifting may be restricted. If this lamp remains on, have your vehicle serviced immediately.
