The function of chicken coops provide safety for chickens and roosters against predators and bad weather, a place for them to sleep which is on roosts or boards placed two or four feet from floor. Chicken food and water can be placed inside during bad weather. The coop is where we place nest boxes for hens to lay their eggs in. Also, chickens take naps in coops during the day.

It is made out of wood and it can sometimes have a ramp for the chickens to walk up to. Inside there is hay or saw dust. When you want to grab the eggs in it usually lets you lift the roof or back of the house up. There is also a hook in it sometimes to hang their food.
