Tadpoles start out having no legs for hopping. which is obvious since it has grown from the egg. Then it goes through a cycle. it first grows legs then loses its tail then well its ready to live on landbut it still must reapetly go to water or else it will dry out but it doesn't drinmk it it absorbs it through our skin!
Tadpoles live in water, as they develop they grow legs and lungs which then allow the to live on land, as adult amphibians.
they hatch into tadpoles They grow legs They grow arms They lose their tail They live on land They Mature They mate They lay eggs they die
They live in water. until they grow legs.
Yes. They are amphibians, which means they can breathe in water and on land. Also, they need water to breed and reproduce because baby frogs or tadpoles only live in the water (they do not grow the organsnecessaryto breathe on land until they are full grown).
They do not usually live like frogs do, half on land and half in water. They much prefer to live on land, in dryer areas. They have skin that better holds in moisture, so they can actually live in the desert.
This is because tadpoles are physically very different from frogs - they have gills and no legs when they are born, so they can't live on land even part of the time.
They have gills which require water to perform oxygen exchange.
Animals that are amphibians, such as frogs. Eggs are laid in water, hatch into tadpoles that live in water and swim, that grow legs and leave the water as frogs.
All amphibians have a life stage that occurs in water. They do not need to live in water. For example, toads come from eggs laid in water that turn to tadpoles and the tadpoles develop into toads that live almost exclusively on land.
