Yes. Wet acetone will disolve sugar because of it's high water content, and although dry acetone will dissolve sugar, it will not do so in the way that wet acetone will.

I think it might, depending if it is a neutral, base, or higher acid. Nuetral, obviously not. Higher than the neutral level, than yes. Lower than the neutral level, than no. They have those acid testers for water, stick that in their and if it comes out a certain color, than depending on what level it is on, that is your answer.

NO!! IT DOES NOT DISSOLVE SUGAR I HAVE TRIED IT MYSELF I EVEN TRIED 2 HEAT UP THE ACETONE IN THE MICROWAVE AND THEN POURED IT ONTO THE SUGAR AND IT STILL DIDNT DISSOLVE THE SUGAR!! AND NEITHER DOES GASOLINE JUST FYI.

No, acetone is an organic solvent and it will not dissolve salt (sodium chloride, NaCl). Water will dissolve sodium chloride.
