Algae are a form of plant life and as every other form of life plays a part in the natural scheme of things. It is food for some creatures and converts sunlight into usable energy. it is also responsible for producing a sizable amount of oxygen and reducing the amount of Carbon dioxide.

Algae are a microscopic plant. they are introduced into the water when spores are carried in by the wind or brought across from other pools the sea or even your shower. Algae if not kept under control will cause your pool to become cloudy milky or green or grow a slimy sheets or spots on the pool walls or floor. algae beside making the pool unsightly will interfere with the disinfection capability of the pools disinfection system, making it a health hazard.

In a an aquatic ecosystem algae are important producers and provide food to variety of animals.
