Germans generally prefer conventional medicine (allopathy) over homeopathy. Allopathy is more widely accepted and used in Germany, as it is supported by scientific evidence and is commonly covered by health insurance. Allopathy. The reason I say this is that allopathy is the only treatment that is restricted to a set of licensed practitioners. An allopathic physician can prescribe any other treatment course they think will be effective whereas the others cannot prescribe medications. Medications/ pills are often not the best treatment. The allopathic doctors can prescribe other treatments but often other practitioners are better versed in them and so can be very helpful. So there is an important role for a wide variety of practitioners but if only one can be picked for all people then I don't think there is much question about which one it should be.
