All Australian silver coins (5, 10, 20 and 50 cent) are composed of 75% copper and 25% nickel.

The standard issue Australian 20 cent coin has Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse and a platypus on the reverse with a "20".

They have a milled edge, weigh 11.31 grams and are 28.52 mm in diameter.

The Australian 20 cent coin is occasionally used as a commemorative and the reverse design will be different from the usual.

Yes. The Australian 20 cent coin was first issued on the 14th of February, 1966 at the introduction of decimal currency. It replaced the Florin (or Two Shilling) coin.

The Australian 20 cent coin is made from 75% copper and 25% nickel, weighs 11.31 grams and is 28.52mm in diameter and has a reeded edge.

The reverse of the non-commemorative coins features a platypus swimming with a "20" in the top right quarter of the coin.

From 1966 to 1984, the obverse featured a youngish Queen Elizabeth II with the words "ELIZABETH II", "Australia" and the year.

From 1985 to 1998, the obverse featured a middle-aged Queen Elizabeth II with the words "ELIZABETH II", "AUSTRALIA" and the year.

From 1999 to present, the obverse featured an older Queen Elizabeth II with the words "ELIZABETH II", "AUSTRALIA" and the year.

The Australian 20 coin is occasionally used as a commemorative coin, notably in 1995, 2001, 2003, 2005 and 2007 to 2011 inclusive. The commemorative coins usually have a numeric "20" on them, but occasionally it might be written "TWENTY CENTS".
