The A/C relay on a 1997 Chevy S-10 is located on the firewall of the engine compartment. It is to the right of the blower motor. This relay is part of a bank of relays and should be the third one from the left side, as a person is facing it.
on the fire wall pass side
Left to right, fuel pump relay, horn relay and fog lamp relay (if equipped).
Fuel pump relay, horn relay, daytime running lights relay and if there is a fourth relay it would be for the power door locks.
The same thing happened to my dads 96 Chevy S-10. The transmission was rusted not allowing it to shift. I would have the transmission checked out.
there is a 10 amp fuse marked console in the fuse box that actually provides power to the overdrive cut of swicth and overdrive relay
The fuel pump relay on that 97 S10 is located inside the glove box behind the access door marked "relays". It will be the 1st relay from the left.
The fuel pump relay is located in the fuse/relay center under the hood.
Look inside the glove compartment and notice a door marked "relays". Remove that door and the fuel pump relay is the first one on the left.
