∙ 13y agoOxygen. Alveoli are little air sacs in the lungs that help with the transfer of carbon-dioxide and oxygen in the blood. Blood arriving at the alveoli contain diffused carbon dioxide where it is exchanged for oxygen. The oxygenated blood is then pumped around the body where the oxygen is exchanged for carbon-dioxide and the whole process starts again.
