When a group of people are against the sale of certain products, they may try to spread their ideas among as many people as possible. The idea is to have people not buy the product. Surprisingly there are no USA boycotts on the sale of tobacco products.

Means you don't buy it. If many people do that it can cause the company to change. A boycott was started by Ceasar Chavez in the 1960's against the table grape growers. He wanted worker rights and protections for the farm workers in the grape industry. This boycott lasted 30 years before conditions improved for the workers. I didn't buy grapes for the entire time to support the workers.
