This is what The Bible says:

"Thanks be to God - through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then I my self in my mind am a slave to God's law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin. Romans 7:25 (next verse) Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death." Romans 8:1-2

In the book of Jude he give us strong spiritual warnings. Jude starts out by saying he is eager to talk to the people in the church about the salvation they share. Certain people were "slipping" into the churches and teaching that it did not matter how we lived. That grace had indeed saved us. They obviously were incorrect in thinking sin was no big deal.

"For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord." Jude 4
