It makes the word find bar appear. You can type in a word and it will find it on the web page that you are on.
CTRL + F is used for searching a page for specific words.

In order to create a footnote you need to press the following keys on the keyboard: Ctrl + Alt + F Ctrl + Alt + Shift + F Ctrl + Shift + F Depending on the program you are using one of the combinations above should work.
It lets you type in a letter that you want to see highlighted on the screen for example if you see the word Fountain and you do ctrl f and type f the Fountain would be highlighted yellow.
Press Ctrl - F to open the Find dialog box. Then you can search for text in the file.
