In the US and Canada, dialing *83 (or 1183) turns off Selective Call Forwarding.

Dialing *82 (or 1182) before dialing a number will allow transmission of your Caller ID data from a line that is blocked by default. You should dial *82 first, before any other codes or prefixes (such as *70 for cancel call waiting, etc.). For example, *82-*70-101xxxx-1-xxx-555-0123.

(The flip side is *67 (or 1167) which blocks transmission of your Caller ID data from a line that is unblocked by default.)

What is the difference between progressive dialer and predictive dialer?

A progressive dialer will dial on random, while predictive dialers will dial on a certain day or monthDefinitionsProgressive dialing is an automated dialingtechnique that presents contact information to the call center agent prior to dialing the phone number. The agent is given a specific amount of time to perform this review prior to the dialer automatically placing the call.Predictive dialers dial numbers from a list independent of the status of individual agents. Dialers anticipate when the next agent will become available based upon key statistics such as average talk time, wrap up time, number of calls required to contact a live answer, etc. Thus the dialer can be dialing numbers even though all agents are busy on call.
