"Dander" is the fluffy stuff the dog sloughs off due to natural causes. It's usually white and downy. If you brush your dog, you will find that the brush fills up with dander rather quickly.

No. If you are allergic, look into getting a hypoallergenic dog. These dogs have hair, like humans, instead of fur. Some of these dogs are poodles and bishon frises.

Are springerdoodles f1b probably ok for allergy sufferers?

There is no such thing as a hypo-allergenic dog. It is the dander that causes the allergy and all dogs are going to have dander. The breeds that don't shed may be a better alternative then a shedding dog as they are said to produce less dander.

Are smaller dog better for people with allergies?

Indirectly. The allergy-producing proteins from the dander, urine and saliva that trigger the allergic reactions are the same from dog to dog, the difference is in the amount produced or present. Small dogs are sometimes better just because they spread around less dander and dander-holding hair, and leave around smaller quantities of urine and saliva.

What is the best dog to buy for people allergic to dog saliva and dander?

I have been looking into dogs with little dander because my dad is like extremely allergic to dander. two that i was interested in were a Yorkshire terrier or a Maltese. These dogs both have hair not fur and don't shed. I was in love when i saw the picture of a Yorkie! Maltese are also adorable, both small dogs. because they are small they don't have as much dander as big dogs. Just make sure you bathe your dog regularly so that they don't have as much dander. Hairless dogs would work too but they aren't as cute. Poodles are good hypoallergenic too. Here is a link to more info- dogbreedinfo.com/allergy.htm
