Usually a bad U Joint - Universal joint connecting drive shaft to transmission & rear drive axle - there is a U joint at each end of the drive shaft - repair this ! Thew drive shaft can actually come off the car when driving - can be very dangerous.
around $ 375.00 at dealer.
always remove battery terminal when replacing sensors.That is your reset.
2001 kia sportage will not lock into four wheel say it in four wheel drive but front wheels dont pull or lock in
there is not one. it is computer run thru cam shaft sensor and crankshaft sensor. but no distributor.

Once you get to the seal it is an easy repair. Problem is you must remove the drive shaft, 4x4 differential, and transmission to get to the seal. Not an easy repair.
