As far as I know, the correct name for garbageman is sanitation worker. The current politically correct term for a "Garbageman" is Sanitation Engineer.

Using a long-winded term for a job, to make it politically correct. For example using "sanitation engineer" as apposed to "bin/garbage man"
In "The Giver," some euphemisms for "bathroom" could include "relief room" or "sanitation station." For "garbage collector," euphemisms might include "clean-up crew" or "waste management worker."
Sanitation worker, fast food worker, janitor, bus driver, mechanic... pretty much jobs like you'd find anywhere else
