What color smoke? Possibly burning coolant. Check for bad head gasket. Possibly engine running rich, which could be for a number of reasons, vacuum leak/pcv valve/clogged breather tube or chamber/ bad o2 sensor(s)/off timing/weak spark or bad spark plug/leaking injectors/clogged air filter/thermostat (if car running cold)/MAP or MAF sensor/etc.
cracked heads, water and oil are mixing
water
IT usally means that WATER is coming out of YOUR tailpipe wich is STEAM & running ruff is Because the smoke is coming from the DEAD cylinder because the head Gasket is blown(bad) {USALLY}

my car overheated and now i have excessive water coming out the tailpipe of my 97 Nissan altima . is the head gasket blown ?
The smell of rotten egg is coming from your catalytic converter that is plugged up White smoke is an indication of water (usually antifreeze) in the exhaust.
Yep. Don't run it this way. This means that water is also in the oil and will ruin the engine. I found out the hard way.
Think you may have bad head gasket, seal or cracked head. Water is getting into your engine which usually causes white smoke. Also leaking antifreeze is from these same causes. Hope this helps. Ken
White smoke exhaust usually means either a head gasket leak or an intake gasket leak. Both are cheaper to repair sooner than later.
I would check and make sure that isn't just water. Condensation occurs on the inside of the tailpipe as the vehicle warms up... If you had gasoline coming into your tailpipe you would experience backfiring, extreme backfiring.
There could be a couple of reasons why water is coming from a tailpipe. There could be a blown head gasket on the car or a cracked head. A small amount of moisture is a normal byproduct of the burning of gasoline in the engine.
No. A bad head gasket would cause water to come out the tailpipe. You will see white smoke. Leaky rings would cause oil to come out the tailpipe. You will see blue smoke.
