If the vehicle diagnostic system determines
that the fuel filler cap is loose, improperly
installed, or damaged, a loose gascap indicator
will display in the odometer display area.
Tighten the fuel filler cap properly and press
the TRIP button to turn off the message. If the
problem continues, the message will appear
the next time the vehicle is started.
A loose, improperly installed, or damaged fuel filler cap
may also turn on the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL).
I have a 2001 Dodge Stratus Coupe V6 and mine is a digital odometer located right under the speedometer.
If you turn the key on and off three times in ten seconds, the system does a self check and flashes codes in the odometer. Done means it is done displaying codes, or there are no codes to display.
you can't. the mileage signal is integral to the transmission shifting
he mileage is stored in the computers on the van, and it is illegal to try to change the reading.
Most Dodge/Chrysler vehicles with digital odometers store the milage in the engine control computer.
You don't. There are reasons you aren't allowed to tamper with an odometer. If you have an old jalopy you might be able to replace a broken drive cable, but you can't even do that with a modern digital one. You have to get it replaced.
Anything is possible if you have the know-how in terms of electronics. However resetting odometers is known as fraud.
The odometer is electric, no cable.
your best bet is to look at the odometer (numbers to tell you the mileage accumulated)at 160,000 milesCondition ValueExcellent $3,050Good $2,675 Fair $2,125

Answer: You don't. That's illegal. Plus without speed sensor readings the transmission, cruise control and abs systems will not function correctly.
You can't.
