In Genesis 22, Abraham was commanded by God to sacrifice his son on a mountain called Mt. Moriah. But God interceded and stopped Abraham from sacrificing Isaac. God had provided a ram for the sacrifice.

Many years later Jesus Christ the Son of God was led to Calvary, or Golgotha to be sacrificed for you and for me. He took the sins of the world and paid the price for them, that if we accept Him as our personal Savior we should inherit eternal life.

Praise God!

Mt. Moriah, the Temple Mount and Calvary are on the same limestone ridge, the same mountain. Genesis 22 is a picture of the sacrifice of our Savior Jesus Christ which occurred many years later.

If you look carefully in the Old Testament you will see other "pictures' of the Messiah, who we know now as Jesus Christ.
