Grendel is often depicted as a large, powerful, and monstrous creature with sharp teeth and claws. In the epic poem "Beowulf," Grendel is described as being humanoid in shape but with exaggerated features like glowing eyes and leathery skin.

Grendel did not look like anything. The name 'Grendel' is made up of two parts: 'gren' and 'deal', because Grendel represents Agnar, son of Ingeld, who was killed by Bothvar Bjarki, aka 'Beowulf', and who died with his lips parted in a grimace of pain, or 'dealt' (divided) into a 'grin'. Grendel is an Anglo-Saxon character based on Agnar, who was the son of Ingeld and of a Swedish princess, the daughter of Earl Swerting. Fragments of the original story are to be found in early Scandinavian texts. The Anglo-Saxon version is an update for an English audience who were familiar with Scandinavian legends.

The thing about Grendel is there is no physical description given. The point of Grendel is that you see him as what you personally think a scary monster should look like. He is supposed to be what everyone fears.
