A Hatchet Stake is a hand tool used by metal workers to bend sheet metal to acute angles (more than 90 degrees). It has a polished edge so as not to mark the metal - copper, brass, aluminium, tinplate and thin sheet steel. It is T-shaped, with a vertical bar that is held in an anvil or strong vice, etc, and a horizontal 'blade' over which the metal is hammered, often with a mallet.
