To understand this question it is important to know that indigo is one of the shades of blue, which is a primary colour. Orange is a secondary colour achieved by mixing the primary colours red and yellow. When you mix all three primary (in equal amounts) colours you usually achieve a very dark grey or black. An imbalance of the colours in the mixture can result in a brown.

Mixing indigo and yellow, depending on the proportions of the colours will result in colours ranging from a warm brown to an almost black grey.
