It means he is a slime ball who is trying to cover up the fact he is trying to get in your pants by spouting nonsense.
He may have heard it on a tv show, generally the purveyors of this type of fake romance.
He might well be attracted to you and have feelings for you. Sounds like typical BS to me.
Sometimes people say things to make you feel special and get your guard down.
He wants you to think
1. he is a spiritual guy (he must be a good guy)
2. he has wants a deeper "connection" with you
3. you are special
What he really wants is the goods!
