The unborn baby has become familiarized with your voice and touch. While, for 9 months, she is completely attached to you at all times, she sees her father for limited times. The hearing sense of a baby begins to develop 4 weeks into the pregnancy, as its' ears develop. She becomes accustomed to your voice. Before even being born, she will begin to recognize your voice. It used to be believed that babies were born deaf and blind. This, however, has been proved false. The only reason your baby is responding to you is because she is more familiar with your and your touch and voice. Once the baby is born, she will develop a sense of familiarity with both the mother and the father.
