No in a word all guppies are live bearers hence their almost accidental breeding at the base of the anal fin there is a dark area called the gravid spot this is present in all females nearing the time og giving birth
It is not fighting. It is competition.
Look for a dark spot near the tail, slightly above the anal fin of the female. Wait until the spot is a deep dark large spot, and she looks swollen before moving her to your breeder box. The spot you see are all the eyes of the fry, if your guppies are a light color you may be able to make out the heads of a few of the fry. I am assuming you have some males in the tank, if you miss the first batch of fry it will only be a few weeks before the female is pregnant again, and with 5 girls you will have plently of chances. Keep in mind because guppies breed fast, even after you separate the males and females, the females can carry the sperm and impregnant themselves for quite a few more pregnancies.
The only difference is the tail is about 1 cm bigger Males usually aready have fancy tails i find
Male guppies have a pointier anal fin and a bigger tail than the female and the female is larger than the male.
The adult is unmistakeable, with white head and tail, with a dark brown body. Look for bald eagles around large bodies of water.
It is very easy. Like all livebearers when the female is in pregnant it will develop a dark triangular shaped gravid spot near her anal vent. As the pregnancy progresses this dark triangular shaped gravid spot will get larger and darker. The feemale will be getting bigger and bigger every dayand she also will havw a dark spot on her belly before her tail. She should be a girl, have a protruding belly and a small dark dot near the base of the tail. She should be a girl, have a protruding belly and a small dark dot near the base of the tail.
