It means that your blood does not have any antigens in it, and since most blood types do your blood, type O has been called the universal donar and is preferred for blood donations as it does not have antigens in it which can attack other blood types and it is compatible with all types

O positive blood has what is called a rh factor in it, O negative does not. People with O negative can give to anybody, it is considered "the universal donor type".

There are 4 basic blood groups- A, B, AB and O. A second factor, known as Rh can be positive or negative. A negative is someone with Type A blood, with a negative Rh factor.
