I can't tell what kind of "deferment" you refer to as your question offers limited info. However it sounds like you may be referring to the kind of deferment where you promise to stay out of trouble (NOT receive any more citations) for a period of 90 days (that's the deferment period in my state, may be different in yours) and then the original traffic ticket will not be sent to the MVD (meaning no points taken off your license, meaning no insurance cost increase). However, you still have to pay court fees in this case but that's still a lot better than having to pay increased insurance costs for the next three years.

If you DO get another traffic ticket during the 90 day period then both will appear on your driving record. Ick!
