Carbon residue is deposits of solid black residue from burnt carbon.
After it dries you can pick it off. Just plain water and soap should work to get the residue off.

try scraping it off with the edge of a credit card & then buff the residue away with a soft cloth.

it shouldn't, sounds like you got ripped off!and what are you cooking it with, soda or ammonia?although neither should be giving you black residue, sometimes the burn from the lighter or candle(use a stove it's better) but your looking for off white not black!

Smoking pot can leave a residue as well A black residue would be from smoking Herion or OxyContin other pills may leave a black residue. Make sure you look at the black spot and be sure it's from smoking something and not some other left overs. Also carbon burn off from candles and even pot smoke can leave a black ash.
