You need to find out why he is tripping. Does he trip when he is not being ridden? If he is then it could be a physical problem like Arthritis. He may not be able to pick his feet up properly because he is in pain
Another possible cause is that his feet are too long, have a farrier look at them if this is the case.
How old is the horse and how hard is he being ridden, he may just be tired. If you are really concerned have him assessed by a vet while he is ridden.
You may need to talk to your farrier. The horse might need his feet trimmed...or new shoes. On the other hand...if your horse just got new shoes, he might not be used to them. Also, check the footing your horse is riding in...it might be to muddy!
Well I don't know how exactly it is tripping, if it trips whilst jumping its probably not able to jump that height or not a proper jumper, if its when you let your reins down its probably tripping over them try twisting them round and round then using a strap from the bridle to hold it :) Or if it just trips see the vet if your pony/horse has something wrong with it.
It means your horse either has bad hooves or it has a foot deformity where its feet are tilted inwards which is a common problem for horses that don't get there hooves clipped. But it could be that your horse needs a hoof clipping inn general, or it could be injured you should take a look at its feet.
