What does it mean when a person says if you really love that person you will let them go and if they really love you they will come back?

It can mean many different things but sometimes it means that person really loves you. Since this question is in the teen category I have to add that many times this means they cannot let go even though maybe they know they should. It is always difficult ending a relationship no matter what age you are. I believe that if it's meant to be it will all work out in the end. All you can do with anything in life, including love and relationships, is to do your best. After that, it is really out of your control and you must accept it and believe that there is someone out there that is meant for you other than that person.

∙ 13y agoFor whatever reason if the situation is not right they say to let them go. It's a test of endurance because when you love something you don't let it go. But if you have to for the smoke to clear...then if that person really loves you, they will come back to you because they find out that they can't endure without your love (you). Good Luck!!
