If the oil appears normal, right color and thickness, first guess is you took it somewhere for an oil change and for whatever reason the guy over filled it. If it is cloudy and looks like chocolate milk, that's a head gasket leak putting water into the crankcase. If it is thin, then gas is getting into the crankcase.

What is the ohm reading on a fuel injector?

An Ohm reading is the amount of resistance through a fuel injector. A fuel injector is a solonoid that controls fuel delivery. Inside the injector, there is a coil of wire. When you measure the Ohms across the injector, you are checking the amount of resistance in that coil of wire. Each injector manufacturer has their own acceptable measurement, so check with them for proper readings.

How do you check transmission fluid in Taurus?

Drive the car for about 15 minutes to heat (and thus expand) the automatic transmission fluid (ATF), then park the car on level ground, but leave it running. Remove the ATF dipstick and check the level. You need to keep the engine and transmission running and warm when you're checking the ATF level because the fluid level mark on the ATF dipstick is calibrated for a warm, running condition, and because a significant amount of ATF will be in the torque converter only while the engine is running. If you measure ATF level while the engine isn't running, you'll get an inaccurately high reading because the ATF will drain out of the torque converter and go into the transmission pan, which is where the tip of the dipstick is located.

Where is the transmission dipstick located on a 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier?

the above answer that a manual transmission has no dipstick may not be entirely accurate. many manual transmissions (including that in my 1993 cavalier VL 5sp.) do have a dipstick for checking the manual transmission fluid. jack the car up and check the rear end of the transmission, just below the level of the CV axles. look for a plastic cap with an "L" shape to it hanging over the back end of a plateau on the transmission casing. that will be the fill cap for your manual transmission, and should have a small dipstick attached to the end of it for measuring the amount of fluid in the transaxle. it is true that some transmissions are completely sealed and will not have this plug.

Where do you add power steering fluid to a 2004 Pontiac sunfire?

The power steering pump sits on the passenger side of the engine and is driven by the serpentine belt. You can identify it by two black hoses about 1" in diameter leading to/from it. On top of the pump is a filler neck which has a threaded cap. Unscrew and remove it to add or check your fluid. There is a dipstick built in to the cap. Replace the cap/dipstick and observe the amount of fluid you're adding by reading the level on the dipstick. Note that there should be markings for cold fluid versus hot fluid. FriPilot
