A jovian planet may have a core that is denser than that of a terrestrial planet but, as this is dense, it is not all that large. The hydrogen atmosphere is very large and therefore anti-dense (if you know what I mean). The lightness therefore dominates.

If you mean that the 'first' 4 planets (mercury, venus, earth and mars) are a group then this group is called the ROCKY planets. Using the same grouping the next 4 planets (jupiter, saturn, uranus and neptune) are called the GAS GIANT planets. see the link I will place below
