If your rav4 is running fine, its more than likely the 5000 mile interval light that comes on to remind you to change the oil. It is designed to come on and bug you every 5000 miles, in hopes that you will change, or have your oil changed. Here is how to reset it. Turn ignition on, dont start the engine, just ignition on. Press in the odometer button, and hold it in.(make sure your odometer is displaying the milage, not the trip meter) Turn ignition off while keeping the od button pressed in. Turn ignition back on, still holding button in, and od will display dashed line like this: -------. The lines will start to count down and you od will return to reading out the milage. The maintenace required light should not come back on, unless there is some other problem. Good luck. Jeff
Time for oil change
The computer is advising you that your oil change interval is drawing near. When the light changes to a steady glow you will have passed the factory set mileage recommended for an oil change.
If you just want the light to just go away and not come on anymore then google how to turn off the maintance required light on your year accord. The same thing happened to me on my 04 accord and I did what was said online and it has not come back on.
it needs to be serviced
It means you've passed the 7,500 mile mark since your last oil change. Within a few more miles (maybe evn by the time you get this) the light will have gone to steady on.

My light usually blinks when I start the car and then stops later on, I usually take it in when the light is solid. You should check your owner's manual if you are concerned.
Listed in your owner's manual. Next to the maintenance required light, you should see a small slot with a button in it. Stick your ignition key into the slot and hold it in for about 10 seconds. When you start your car, the light should be green, indicating that it has been reset. The maintenance light will turn orange automatically the next time that the mileage reaches one of Honda's recommended maintenance intervals.

Easy. With key in ignition and car off, press the odometer reset button into full down position. Turn key to position just before full start and continue holding the button until the light goes off and internal maintenance mileage counter light resets. Note the light begins to blink on start up as the maintenance counter nears the schedule before it stays "on" continuously awaiting a reset. This procedure is detailed in the tc manual.

Maintenance Required LightThis will depend on the car, but here is some general advice: Hold odometer button, turn key on and wait ten seconds or until light flashes. Start vehicle, light should be off (imports).Try removing and reinstalling one battery cable. Some vehicles will reset if you turn the ignation key on and off 3 times.Or you could always try doing the maintenance, I bet that would turn it off.Put the key in turn it on "BUT" don't start then pump the gas 3 times kinda fast. This works on GMC 2003 SUV's
try pushing the od button for the speedomator then turn the key all the way forward but don't start the car.wait for the mainenance light to go out. then turn the key off and remove it.
Put the key in the ignition but do not turn it on. with one hand push in the button on the speedometer for the Trip/Reset and hold it in. continue holding it in as you use your other hand to turn the key on. you do not need to start the engine, just turn it until the dash lights come on. continue holding the trip/reset button in and watch the maintenance required light. It should go out after about 15 seconds. when it goes out you can turn the ignition key off then release the trip/reset button. That will reset the maintenance required light. (from Yahoo Answers, advice is good, works great)
