The wrench light is a service indicator. It generally means that something needs attention. Sorry to not be more specific, but Google didn't reveal much about this light. Several suggestions were to have Autozone, or whichever parts house you use, check the OBD II port to see if there are any trouble codes being "thrown".

I have an 01 Pontiac sunfire and I have noticed that the check gages light comes on when the gas is low. I have never seen any other indicator come on for low fuel.
I have a 1995 Pontiac Sunfire . The "check gages " light comes on when my gas tank is on empty. I dont know if this is a right answer but this is how I know I need to fill up at the gasbar .
If you are putting new ones on just take a hammer and beat on the rotor until it comes loose.
If the Tech goes out and your TCS indicator comes on it could be your crank shaft sensor
remove the plastic shield and unbolt two scres and the entire lens comes out don't touch the glass of the new bulb
Answer location of check gauges lightthe check gauges light is on your instrument panel when it comes on it lights up saying check gauges
It is an oil change reminder light. YOU make the call as to how long you want to continue driving with dirty oil. Now, this does not answer the question at all since the question was how long can you go w/ the wrench light. anyone else?
You have to remove the tail light lens cover from inside the trunk- there are about 6 nuts holding it on --the whole cover comes off and bingo there are your lites for the Pontiac emblem that lights up!! There are no lights persay just for the Licence plates on my 96 Sunfire and I assume the same on a 98
P1300 is a Boost Calibration Fault. For more info, you'll have to talk to yourmechanic.(from this source) http://www.troublecodes.net/OBD2/Pcodes.shtml
If you're asking about the piece that lights up PONTIAC across the trunk lid, it comes off from inside the trunk. There are half a dozen or so, screws. I had to pull mine off to get at those lamps that make the PONTIAC logo light up. Normally, you can get at those lamps, but mine were stuck in there pretty tight.
absolutely nothing it seems, the light can be a finicky thing, check your ias (the wire connected to your air hose) that's a usual suspect
If its the little "elbow" that comes out of the fire wall on the engine side then it means the heatercore is leaking. This is a drain hose for the ac and if the heater core leaks it drains thru this tube
