It was probably ovulation - which happens two weeks before your period. Inconvenient but nothing to worry about at all. It is possible you were ovulating. Some women spot at that time as an additional indicator that is what is going on. If you had unprotected sex a few days prior to the spotting, there is a chance you could be pregnant. However, you will have to wait until your period is late to test.
