Zombie dreams are quite common among teens and young adults at this time (2011), probably because of their popularity in Western pop culture. Symbolically, zombie dreams express the frustration felt by young people as adults (teachers, parents, authorities) try to influence their minds and ways of thinking, and to shape them into useful, successful members of society. In the subconscious mind, the Zombies represent those adults, and "eating brains" symbolizes the efforts to shape thinking and behavior to conform with those adults. Surviving the zombie attacks would represent effective resistance to education and conformity.
