It could mean many things, and I'm certainly not trying to dis your feelings or your situation. A possible meaning is that you are trying to engage your husband at the wrong time. Usually when someone is in bed, the over-all signal is obvious: "It's time for me to sleep." Consider engaging him at a time when you are both awake and alert and there is nothing particularly important going on. If you cannot talk with him no matter when you try, then trying to talk with him when he's trying to sleep is the least of your troubles.
