If the neck of a bearded dragon's neck puffs up, it's mad or scared and the neck might also get black:)
yes Bearded Dragons can hear you talk
When a bearded dragons beard puffs up that means that there protecting them selves and also there sides expand when they feel threatend.
The simple answer is - they don't ! Their natural habitat is the Australian desert area which never gets cold enough to entice them to hibernate.
Bearded dragons have to eat live mealworms cos they see need to see them wiggle before they eat them, if there just laid there then they wont notice their even there. xx
When a bearded dragon gets scared, a pouch near the throat inflates and darkens, so as to intimidate the foe. They also look like small dragons. Also the beardie is showing off. My beardie looks at himself while he is sunbathing and just blows out his beard to show how strong or good he looks. He loves me to talk to him when he does it. He is so funny !
Depends, the standard female gets about 4 inches wide, they can flatten them selves out, male get slightly larger
so the reptile gets the suns vitamins. It is the closest light to the sun. Some reptiles dont need it though. FOr example: Leopard geckos don't need it... Bearded Dragons won't grow right without it..
i haven't got a clue
I would not advise a heating pad because when it gets too hot it can burn your bearded dragon's sensitive belly. A heat lamp is enough. There is one more lamp that simulates artificial sunlight you need too (i forget what it is called at the moment) but there is no need for a heating pad. Just, depending on your bearded dragon's size, get the correct size heating lamp. Ask your local pet store owner or bearded dragon breeder what lamp size is best for him/her.
Bearded dragons dont hibernate, but they do brumate, usually in winter when it is cold. it is completely normal, and he will be active and happy in a few months. brumating is when the beardie just gets really tired and doesn't eat, move around, or defecate as much.
The average adult bearded dragon gets 18 inches long (1 1/2 feet) . There are different species of bearded dragon that can get up to 24 inches (2 feet). I have 5 adult dragons. The smallest is about 14 inches, the largest is about 22 inches. Ones that have some "German Giant" genes tend to get larger but you really can't tell until they are full grown. 18 inches is a good estimate but it could be 4 - 6 inches difference in either direction.
Yes most likely. if you left worms or crikits in there it might of gone to eat them and missed and accidentaly ate sand. :( Or if it was laying on it's back when you found him he might of accidentaly buried himself in sand while struggling to turn over an swalloed some sand and suffocated:(
