dogs can get acne. Most commonly on the chin and face. It usually comes from sniffing in the dirt, having deposits on their lips and chin from eating, and the muzzle staying wet after drinking water, causing their pores to clog up and the skin in that area to raise around it. Some dogs are more prone to it than others.
Have your vet examine that dog and he will probably prescribe a mild steroid cream. If the acne is severe, the dog may not like the cream at first because it may cause a slight burning sensation. It should be applied three times a day at first, which will clear the bad stuff up within a few days. After that, it will probably lessen quite a bit or even disappear. When the breakouts are controlled, the cream won't bother the dog anymore.
A good way to help prevent breakouts or lessen the severity of them is to try and keep your dog's face and chin clean and dry, by wiping it once in awhile with a tissue, especially after eating and drinking.
p.s. If your dog does get severe acne on his face or chin, the hair could grow back a different color (such as white hair on a black dog) when the acne clears up and the hair grows back.
He is getting old, so don't worry.
best answer people get pimples from lack of sleep and stress
I wouldn't recommend this - your dog's mouth has millions of bacteria in it that can cause more pimples.
Nothing, except that they are maturing faster than other girls.
Would you please elaborate on this question. What do you mean by a "Sniffer Dog"??? If a dog gets hurt, you should take him to your Veterinarian.
Pimples are common during puberty, due to hormonal spurt. You do not look dirty, when you have pimples. Late teenagers go on thinking about the pimples only. Almost every body gets the pimples and that is certainly not a crime to have pimples. So do not go on touching the pimples and do not squeeze them. You look beautiful by smile of the face, even with pimples there on your face.
