There are quite a few reasons this can happen, but this is not something someone should just try to wait out. A person with abdominal pain and lack of appetite for 5 days should be seen immediately by a doctor.
In general, anything seriously wrong in the abdomen can cause pain and lack of appetite.
The problem might be relatively simple like a viral gastroenteritis (an infection of the stomach and/or intestines by a virus).
Then again, the problem might be much more severe, requiring immediate medical attention. Things like intestinal obstruction, appendicitis, bowel perforation, and diverticulitis all fall into this more serious category.
The bottom line? Get to a physician as soon as possible so that he/she can rule out the bad stuff and treat the problem.
