Because many cars and trucks use one motor for both wipers, it is likely that this motor has failed, or is disconnected, or has blown the fuse for its circuit.
Check the fuse first. If this is replaced and again blows, you have a wiring problem or a bad switch. Check the wiring for an open circuit (bad wire). You can try to directly operate the motor to see if it has burned out. If the fuse is okay, and the motor works, the fault is in the switch control. Modern switches are complex and have multiple speed and time delay circuits. Any of these might be disabling or shorting the circuit.
Consulting a qualified mechanic who has an electronic diagnostic tool could save you time and effort.

Windshield wipers don't work
When purchasing windshield wipers that work intermittently, they can be any windshield wipers that are the correct size. The ability to work intermittently is a wiring/fuse ordeal. This does not play a part in the selection of windshield wipers that you choose from.
why don't the windshild wipers work on 1995 ford countours. their is no power to fuse box or wiper motor.

i put a new windshield wiper moter in and the fuses are fine but my wipers still wont work
switch them on
If the windshield wipers work when pushing the lever down but not when they are turned on all the time, the problem could be in the wiper motor relay switch. There are two different relay switches for the windshield wipers, so that if the one fails a person can still clear the windshield manually.
Loose connection, intermittent short.
some times wind shield wipers dont work because the car is frozen and they need to thaw out from not moving for a while. if it gets to be a big problem go and buy some sleeves for them.
There are several things that can cause your windshield wipers not to work. The most common cause is a malfunctioning windshield wiper motor.
