It depends on where the hum is coming from motor / wheels / gear box etc
It could be the fuel pump, if its when you first start the car up
The loud hum could be caused by some of the teeth going out on the transmission or that the transmission is failing.
At the idle rate, when no throttle is being applied, it is a low-pitch hum. Not very loud. Give it the gas... it is a whole other story. They get loud, the resonance becomes a HIGH-pitch screech. Unpleasant yes, but it screams power.
wheel bearing,ruin filter box and some of the greece that is stuck in the engine can cause loud hum.
A: if when driving you hear a hum from the front end, especially when you turn. Tires may begin to wear unevenly. If its really bad the hum will get very loud, if you jack the car up the wheel sags.
If you ear it in the car it's probably your radio needs a noisse filter.???? WHERE IS IT COMING FROM?

Replace the bearing and race. It may just be the brake pads. Have this looked into ASAP.

Oh, it is called a 60 cycle hum, i doubt anything is wrong with it.
That's a matter of configuration. Look for help on your software.
