In some states, a minor under 18 years of age must apply for a work permit. There is only a set amount of hours a minor can work a week. Besides those requirements, the best thing a minor can take when applying for a job is a good attitude and an ability to learn.

Can A Sixteen Year Old Move In With An Eighteen Year Old As Long As The Eighteen Year Old Has A Job With Proof Of Income That Can Prove They Are Financially Able To Take Of The Sixteen Year old?

If the 16- and 18-year-olds are of opposite sex be careful of potential statutory rape charges. The sixteen year old might need to prove that he or she has a job also in order to be emancipated. If the parents of the 16 year old are compliant with the child's choice to move out, there shouldn't be any problems. You probably wouldn't even need to prove the 18 year old has a job as long as the 16 year old is still attending school regularly, and has the means to care for their self. If the 16 year old is not in school, has no job and the parents are still compliant to allow them to live with the 18 year old, all is well. In most jurisdictions the 16 year old can now drop out at that age. If parents are not compliant and the 16 year old has dropped out, he or she will need to obtain a job regardless of the 18 year old to prove to the legal system that he or she is mature enough to take care of themselves. if you still do not understand go to web site listed in the discussion section and pick your state then look up, emancipation rights.
