Ponyboy, I asked the nurse to give you this book so you could finish it. The doctor came in awhile ago but I knew anyway. I keep getting tireder and tireder. Listen, I don't mind dying now. It's worth it. It's worth saving those kids. Their lives are worth more than mine, they have more to live for. Some of their parents came by to thank me and I know it was worth it. Tell Dally it's worth it. I'm just going to miss you guys. I've been thinking about it, and the poem, that guy that wrote it, he meant you're gold when your a kid, like green. When you're a kid everything's new, dawn. It's just when you get used to everything that it's day. Like the way you dig sunsets, Pony. That's gold. Keep that way, it's a good way to be. I want you to tell Dally to look at one. He'll probably think you're crazy, but ask for me. I don't think he's ever seen a sunset. And don't be so bugged over being a greaser. You still have a lot of time to make yourself be what you want. There's still lots of good in the world. Tell Dally. I don't think he knows. Your buddy Johnny.
... because he didn't think Dally was gonna die
Here's the letter:

You still have a lot of time to make yourself be what you want. There's still lots of good in the world. Tell Dally. I don't think he knows. Your buddy, Johnny.

Dallas helps Johnny by saving him from the burning church and he helps Ponyboy by putting out the fire out from his back.
Johnny thinks that Dally is a hero .Dally doesn't have very good manners, so that's not why, but when something happens and Dally knows who done it, but he got blamed, he wouldn't tell on who done it. He would just take the sentence.
Ponyboy leaned that dally was pretending to be some "tuff" "rough" mean guy to hide his pain and other emotions from everyone so no one would think he was going soft.(SPOILER ALERT!!) ponyboy learns this when Johnny cade dies and dally loses his mind because he loved Johnny the most and kills himself in the end
Dally didn't have an actual dream he states, but he did dislike the Socs and wanted to have them beaten, but that would be difficult because they would be able to stay out of trouble because of their rich parents. Then there is Johnny; Johnny was the only thing Dally ever loved-as Ponyboy stated after Dally's death- and he was very protective of Johnny, so you could say his dream was to protect Johnny or maybe for Johnny to become more tougher and be able to care for himself.
Darry has a habit of losing his temper. He would beat Dally because he helped Ponyboy and Johnny run from the police. Darry would be mad because Dally didn't tell Darry until after they were gone. Read on and it will help with this answer.

my advise for ponyboy and johnny would be to turn themselves in from the beginning. They were only defending themselves so i dont think anything would happen.

Pony was afraid and unsure of what to do, he looked to Johnny for any idea, but Johnny was set on going to to Dally for advice. Dally gave them supplies for running away (money, gun, cloths), which sealed the deal.
The first loyal would be when killed Bob. The second loyal would be when the police were questioning Dally about the location of Ponyboy and Johnnny. The third loyal would be when Ponyboy and Johnny ran inside the church to saved those kids.
As Johnny and Ponyboy devour a big meal at the Dairy Queen, Dally explains that Cherry felt responsible for a situation that resulted in Bob's stabbing, so she offered to watch monitor the Socs' preparations for the rumble and to testify that Johnny acted in self-defense. Johnny announces that he thinks he and Ponyboy should turn themselves in to the police. Dally tries to convince him otherwise, saying that he never wants Johnny to become hardened in the way that jail would harden him. Johnny responds that he thinks he has a good chance in a trial since he acted in self-defense, and that he feels guilty for worrying Ponyboy's brothers. Dally agrees to drive the boys back to Tulsa. As they drive past the church where they had been hiding, they see that it's burning.
He didn't think it was fair that Ponyboy's brothers had to worry about Pony all the time. Also, he thinks he could get off easier when Dally tells him that Cherry would testify that the socs were drunk and Johnny stabbed Bob in self-defense.
He is embarresed to be a greaser, he thought Dally would embaress them ;)
Johnny needed the gang for family love , just like must of the gang. johnny is like a little brother to the gang, hes innocent and gets along with everybody in the gang. Johnny is the pet of the gang and without Johnny the gang wouldst be the same as before. The gang are so close and they would feel like a bit of them is gone if Johnny died. You could say its foreshadowing aswell because johnny dies and then dally goes crazy(without johnny dally goes crazy and dies to)Hope this helped
