Why did mount Krakatoa explode?

Krakatoa's explosion was probably due to shifts in the crust of the earth below the site that resulted in the upwelling of a large quantity of magma. Additionally, faulting and subsiding may have permitted seawater to enter magma chambers. This would have cooled and solidified magma, thus "capping" the chamber(s) and allowing pressure to build to the point the island exploded to release the pressure.

What does a caldera volcano look like?

A caldera is simply a volcanic cauldron. A large circular hole that marks the position where the rocks of the volcano have collapsed into the emptied magma chamber below

What happens before a volcano erupts?

When the magma gets close to the surface, the gases dissolved in it start to come out, forming gases which help the magma rise further and erupt. If there is a lot of gas in the magma, it may explode as the gases expand. There may also be triggers like a landslide that uncaps the magma reservoir (like at Mt. St. Helens in 1980) or an interaction with groundwater that causes an explosion.

What might happen if more magma is injected into the chamber from below?

A magma is injected into a volcano's plumbing the first thing you see is inflation of the land/volcano surface, this would be accompanied by earthquakes and low frequency harmonic sounds caused by the flow of magma through the volcano's passages (like a flute). There would then be the release of gasses from the vent (a phreatic eruption) as magma heats ground or surface water. This may then be followed by eruption of magma from the volcano's vent.

How far down is the magma chamber that causes hydrothermal activity?

About as little as 25 - 10 kms deep like it is in Hawaii. That's the equivalent of half the distance to the mall. Not very far at all.

What is the main lava chamber in the neck of a volcano?

A magma chamber in a volcano is a pool-like container of liquid rock just below the earth underground. It is constantly under tremendous pressure, and with enough time, it can start fracturing rock to make places for magma to escape.

How are soft drink in a can and magma alike?

because the soda in a can is like the magma in the chamber both are pressured and when they open up it explodes. c

How magma exit on Earth?

Under the ground (down VERY far) there are things called magma chambers. Inside them is magma (obviously). There are tubes leading out of this. When the earths tectonic plates shift the magma chamber is disturbed and magma comes up through the tubes (the tubes are naturally formed). When the magma comes up to the earth's surface it is called lava. Lava turns to a rock like substance when cool and after many "eruptions" it builds up to form what we know as volcanoes.

What is a volcano?

A volcano is a mount (or mountain) that has magma in it. A volcano also is like an earthquake releasing pressure from the inner core of the earth. If there is a lot of pressure to be released this will cause the eruption to be bigger and more destructive, like the volcano Mount Tambora that erupted in 1815.

Where is heatran in pokemon diamond?

The Legendary Pokemon Heatran can be found at the final chamber in stark mountain. It will only be there if you have had Buck take and then return the Magma Stone (or something like that). It will be at Level 70.

How hot is the main chamber of a volcano?

It's called the Magma Chamber, and will vary considerably, but probably over 1500ºC. As a rough guide, basalt (erupted from intra-plate or constructive plate margin volcanoes like Hawaii or on Iceland respectively), melts at about 1200ºC depending on the individual rock's specific chemistry.

What is the best place to mount a subwoofer?

The trunk of your car is the best place to mount a pair of subs. The trunk also acts like a sound chamber for the subs. Just make sure you seal the trunk good so it will not raddle when the bass hits.
