NO!!! A nucleus is the centre of a cell that hold its genetic information.
the nucleus (S.I.)
The nucleus of a cell is surrounded and held together by the nuclear envelope. The nucleus of the cell contains hereditary information.

The Nucleus hold DNA
In cells, the function of the nucleus is to control the cell. If I had to describe the nucleus in a cell, I would say the heart, or brain of the cell.

Eukaryote.
The nucleus is usually nicknamed as "the brain of the cell" or "the control center", but that is just what they teach you in grade school. All the nucleus actually does is hold the DNA. The DNA is really what controls the cell, tells the cell what to do, and acts as the cell's "brain."
The nucleus of the cell contains the genome.
A nucleus has a membrane around it that is very similar to the cell membrane. It is called the nuclear envelope and it is a porous double membrane that separates the nucleoplasm from the cell cytoplasm.
