What does a code 212 mean on a OBD 1 mustang
Considering this is a 1996 model, you can have either the OBD1 or OBD2 system. Most manufactures switched this year. If it is OBD1 then disconnect the battery for 5 min and it should reset. If it is OBD2 it can only be reset with a scan tool. Some OBD1 systems were also reset with a key combination. Call your local Ford dealer and they will inform you of which you have and the procedure.
